Full Job Description
Big Sky Environmental is seeking a qualified, motivated individual to join our organization as a scale operator. As part of our team, you will use a computerized scale to weigh incoming and outgoing vehicles, logging information relevant to each truck, including vehicle type, tags, and driver. You will accurately record this data for billing purposes and perform regular audits to ensure appropriate billing. This position requires moderate computer proficiency, and our ideal candidate has prior experience with trucking, data entry, and industrial workplace safety.
Job Requirements:
- Use a computer to record the weights of incoming and outgoing vehicles
- Log information into a centralized database
- Calculate costs for drivers based on vehicle weight
- Maintain a safe, organized working environment
- Ready to learn from on-the-job training when necessary
- Any other duties as assigned
Conditions of Employment:
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check
- Workers must be punctual and reliable
Working Conditions:
- Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions
- Work involves almost constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, biohazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises
- Moderate physical activity. May require standing or sitting for long periods of time in an administrative office environment.
